Emma Mitchell, Chief Executive of the Camelia Botnar Foundatin said "we are over the moon with our achievements this year and our trainees have once again made us very proud.  Adam's awards are well deserved as he is a very talented and creative Blacksmith and his work is to an exceptional standard".

See photos below.

We are very proud to anounce that our Metalwork Managers, Tim Clement and Adam Baillie have been awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths for producing work of a high level in the Craft of Blacksmiths.

Applicants for a Certificate of Merit are expected to show competence in all the basic skills and abilities required for a Journeyman's Certificate and in addition, they must be able to show imagination and design skills and use them in the making of more complicated articles.

Our Managers are now aiming for the Diploma of Merit which will mean they can work towards the very coveted Licentiate of Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths and we wish them every success with these projects.

The Carpentry Department made 28 oak tables for the visitor's restaurant at the 11th Century Arundel Castle in 2010.

The Castle's busy Visitor's Restaurant needed some new table tops and asked our  Carpentry  Department to replace them.   We were delighted to have been chosen for the job.

TALK AND A TOUR OF OUR NURSERY

These meetings will appeal to large groups and clubs.   We offer a talk to members of your party and then an informal question and answer session from our Chief Executive and our Nursery Manager.   These talks are extremely popular and very informative to those of you who are not familiar with our background and what our charity is all about, or the work we are undertaking in the Nursery at Camelia Botnar Homes & Gardens in West Sussex.

We hold these talks in our Garden Centre and you can always book a table in our Bistro and  enjoy some tea and cake afterwards.  You may prefer to combine this event with a lunch or a light bite for your group, in which case we are  happy to organise this booking on your behalf.

                                       TALK AT YOUR CLUB

Alternatively,  if you prefer, we are happy to offer a talk  in the local area  at one of your club meetings.     This  talk will be a Powerpoint presentation,  again by our Chief Executive and Nursery Manager, when all we require is access to an electricity supply.   The format of these events will be the same as above, with the addition of a visual screen with the  occasional humourous edge to the photos.  These meetings are so popular we have even taken bookings in the diary for 2013.

If you are interested in booking any of these talks, please ring 01403 865863, or email sparmenter@cameliabotnar.com

Picture gallery: HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR 2011 CHRISTMAS LATE NIGHT OPENING. WE HOPE YOU WILL COME TO OUR NEXT ONE.

For the fourth year running we had another successful Late Night Opening in December.

We would like to thank all those who helped to make it a great evening, in particular the the Horsham Black Dragon Morris Dancers who danced and sang the night away.

Father Christmas and his helpers were there for the children (and the adults) and mince pies and mulled wine  was enjoyed by all.

Our Bistro was packed, so if you intend to come again in December 2012, please remember to book a table.
